DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING- half-day program

Discover excitement and adventure! This program lets you experience the thrill of scuba diving under the close supervision of a qualified PADI Instructor in ideal conditions. This dive experience is also available on the Sail Caribbean Teen Programs.
The orientation and skills session are typically conducted on Cooper Island or Norman Island. Under the palm trees you'll be introduced to basic concepts of scuba diving and you'll practice some important scuba skills off the beach in calm, clear water. Then, one of our custom dive boats will take you to enjoy your first open water dive, no deeper than 40ft/12 m. Explore one of our amazing reefs with your instructor.
These skills and the open water dive may be credited towards your PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver course.

OPEN WATER DIVER- 3 to 5-day course
This course is the most popular entry-level dive program in the whole world! Earn your ticket to a lifetime of adventure in scuba diving. This course is also available on the Sail Caribbean Teen Programs.
Throughout your PADI Open Water Diver course, you'll learn the fundamentals of safe scuba diving, including dive equipment, techniques, and planning. This certification allows you to rent scuba equipment, obtain air-fills and also enroll in PADI Continuing Education courses (PADI Adventure Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, or even PADI Specialties).
The PADI Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide. To earn this rating, you now have two options to complete the academic requirements. Option 1:complete five knowledge development sessions using the latest "GO DIVE" DVD or manual and video. Option 2: complete a PADI e-learning seminar. Both options consist of knowledge review questions, quizzes and a final exam. Regardless of which academic option you select the waterskills portion of your course is the same. During five confined water training dives, your instructor will demonstrate and then you'll practice and master important diving skills. Finally, applying everything you have learned, you will make four open water dives at favorite dive sites around the British Virgin Islands.
Note: Option 2 requires less course time once you have arrived in the BVI and is very convenient for divers who want to spend plenty of time sailing & sunbathing while on vacation in the BVI.
