RENDEZVOUS DIVING – What is it?
Our dive boats depart Tortola daily to rendezvous with charter boats, crewed yachts, bareboats and resort guests on other islands in the BVI. Resort, hotel and villa guests on Tortola can join our daily dive & snorkel trips departing from Hodges Creek Marina or Mariner Inn & Marina.
Rendezvous diving means we will bring our dive boat, dive guide and scuba equipment to pick you up at a predetermined location in order to dive a nearby dive site. Certified divers with credentials from any scuba training agency can join the dive boat for a guided dive or two. For those who are not certified or want to try diving for the 1st time, we offer Discover Scuba Diving – a half-day introductory scuba experience. With access to over 75 sites in the BVI there is something for everyone and the BVI is the perfect destination to get your feet wet.
Rendezvous dives are guided by PADI Professionals. Dive groups are small so your underwater experience will be more comfortable. All boat trips include thorough safety briefings and pre-dive briefings. Dive crew will describe historical points of interest, marine life, the dive route and general underwater topography for each dive site before you enter the water. Scuba divers and snorkelers are assisted in and out of the water by qualified surface support who remain on board during every dive for your safety. All scuba equipment is included for rendezvous divers.
RENDEZVOUS DIVING – How it Works
Our regular rendezvous points are Norman Island, Peter Island, Cooper Island, Trellis Bay, Marina Cay, Scrub Island, Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, Hodges Creek Marina, Mariner Inn & Marina and a few other locations on request. Dive & Snorkel sites are chosen on a first come, first served basis and are based on proximity to the rendezvous point. For example if you want to dive the RMS Rhone, we would rendezvous at Cooper Island or Salt Island. Visit our dive sites page for more details on our favorite dives and best rendezvous points to access them. This eliminates long boat rides & maximizes dive times.
All scuba equipment is included for all dives. Please let us know your size requirements when you make your reservation. For your convenience use our reservation form below.
Student divers may join any rendezvous dives where the site is suitable to their training level. Please see education rates for student divers (those earning certifications or trying scuba for the 1st time) who wish to join an excursion. There is no additional fee to join the boat, but training must be scheduled in advance to assure instructors will be available for your course. We will provide a separate dive guide for students unless a special request is made for them to join certified divers. All scuba equipment is included for courses below the professional level.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMER’S HAVE TO SAY ABOUT DIVING WITH US
I did a dive with you guys a few days ago after arriving on a Norwegian Cruise ship. I typically try to dive through private operators when doing dives off of a cruise ship because of the mixed results I have had. The dive I had in Tortola was wonderful. The first dive on the Rhone was my best wreck dive to date (in 5 years of diving). Our small group was then given the option of a second dive on the wreck or a coral reef dive. Your crew took the effort to put us on a real good reef and I had a wonderful encounter with 2 spotted eagle rays that swam maybe 15 feet from me. I know it is a lot of effort to put good dives and a good crew together and you guys were fantastic. Thanks again, W. Strauss (April 2015)
We’re a family that has been fortunate enough to dive all over the world and I can honestly say that this PADI dive shop is the best we’ve encountered. My daughter was doing her open water certification dives and had an accident after the first day (not related to diving) and the Sail Caribbean Diver crew couldn’t have been more sympathetic, professional and proactive. Beyond that accident, the Sail Caribbean team were friendly, enthusiastic and fun – you can tell that diving is their passion! Our daughter was able to complete her certification the next day, thanks in no small measure to the professionalism of the Sail Caribbean team! We’ll certainly dive with them again, next time we’re in the beautiful BVI and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to everyone from first time divers to ‘old salts’!
